Bye New Zealand

After an emotional and loving farewell we (Sophie and Simon) departed Auckland airport at 3.45pm on 16th of October 2011. *Take note sporty travelers* Unfortunately because of airport luggage allowances changes we had to give our sports bag containing one snowboard, one pair of skis, two poles, two snowboard boots and one pair of ski boots to our parents to airfreight to us when we’re in London. Thanks parents, we love you!

The flight to Sydney with Qantas was pretty painless, flight was packed but it was nice to take off in the daylight to admire NZ for the last time in a while. Great selection of movies and music. When we arrived, we went outside to smell Sydney and pose in front of a horrible airport sign to prove we’ve actually been there.
We had to kill four hours until our next flight. Luckily the Internet was free and the AB’s were playing their semi final game smashing the Aussies!! Yeah!
The next flight was the 14.5-hour trek to Abu Dhabi in the UAE. We flew with Etihad who were pretty good! Zero complaints there. We were seated in a row of four seats, of which two were free for us to sleep on.
Goodnight. The next post will be filled with excitement.

  1. Hooray for travelling and so excited that there's this blog for me to keep track of your funtimes. Very sad you won't get to stop by Singapore (since it's totally out of the way) or we could have a meet-up!
