Abu Dhabi Part. 2

The second day in Abu Dhabi had us visit the Iranian Markets in the morning, which were pretty pathetic to be honest. Maybe we were there at the wrong time of the year but it was filled with thousands of pots and plants. That's it. So we decided to go back to the mall and look around again.

After a few hours in the mall we departed on our Desert Safari at 3:30pm.  The driver picked us up from the hotel in a V8 Land Cruiser ("Land Cruisers and Patrols are the best" apparently) and we made two more stops to pick up two guys that worked for IBM, including one amazingly arrogant American, and another (hot) couple.  The speed limit on the motorways are 120km/h but once out in the desert we were doing 140 and cars were still passing us.  We pulled off the motorway onto a desert road which lead to a bunch of camels that we took photos of.

The drivers deflated the tyres and we headed into the dunes.  Sophie screamed like the little child she is and grabbed Simons leg.  "Ahhhhhhh!!!!!".

After an hour of dune bashing we stopped at a tent site where we had a quick ride on a camel. If you wanted to, you could do sand boarding and ride a quad, but we decided to head into the camp where we got dressed up in some costumes (traditional dress), had a very yummy buffet dinner and were treated to a jiggly belly dance.  Sophie got up and showed everyone what she's got. Belly dancing complete, we headed back to the hotel and arrived there at about 9:30pm.  Amazingly good experience, highly recommended, two thumbs up, A++!!!!!!!!  Great value for $150 NZ.

Day 3: 8am waking up in the morning, gotta go down stairs, gotta get some breakfast and head to the beeeaccchhhh!  We got there at 9am, shops dont open until 10am, what can we doooooooo!!!!  Its beach time, beach time, gotta walk on the beach...

Cinnabon! Ew. Don't ever go there.  The only place that was open so we had to but if you have a choice, don't!  They get their panini's out of the freezer in plastic bags and it took about 30 minutes for Sophie to be served and they only did because Sophie was like oi, WTF!  After that miserable breakfast we taxied back to the hotel, packed and headed off to the Airport.

When we arrived a nice man was waiting there with a trolley for our bags.  We thought it was a service the airport offered... TRAP!  Cost us $7NZ for him to wheel our bags to the Etihad terminal (50m).  Departed from Abu Dhabi at 1:30pm and got into Heathrow at 6:30pm.

Thanks Abu Dubs, you were incredible!!!
